Craftsman Tools Design Manager Jonathan Turnbull Begins 2026 Rally Season

Craftsman Tools Design Manager Jonathan Turnbull made an encouraging start to the 2026 rally season after bringing his new Citroën C2 home in 34th place overall and sixth in class at the Snetterton Stages Rally.

As part of Craftsman Tools' sponsorship of Jonathan's 2026 rally campaign, the company will be following his progress throughout the season. Together with co-driver Neil Rostern, Jonathan will be competing in events across the UK, with regular updates shared here on the company website.

The Snetterton Stages Rally marked Jonathan's first competitive outing in the newly built Citroën C2, following a successful testing programme ahead of the season opener. Competing against a field of 75 crews in a round of the British Circuit Rally Championship, the team faced challenging wet conditions throughout much of the day.

After taking a cautious approach on the opening stage to assess the grip from a new set of wet weather tyres, Jonathan and Neil steadily increased their pace as confidence in the car grew.

Despite a spin during the third stage in worsening weather, the pair recovered well and continued to climb the order throughout the day.

The final stage, run in darkness, was another new experience for Jonathan, who produced a strong finish to secure 34th overall and sixth in class.

Reflecting on the event, Jonathan said: "The ideal first rally scenario, with a decent result."

Just as importantly, the Citroën C2 completed its first competitive event without any mechanical issues or damage, providing the team with a solid platform to build on for the rest of the season.

Jonathan and Neil thanked their crew, family, friends and supporters for their help throughout the weekend. The car will now undergo its routine post-event checks before preparations begin for the next round of the championship at Anglesey.
